SMSRS Research is focussed on the evaluation of Audience Response Technology, in particular, the use of SMS Response System (SMSRS) as the tools to engage audience/learners in lecture, tutorial or seminar setting. This portal uses a free open source framework and content publishing system designed for quickly creating highly interactive multi-language Web sites, online communities, media portals and blogs to provide an avenue for the formation of a community-of-practice in SMSRS.
SMSRS Research is the brainchild of Mak Wai Keong, Research Associate, Centre for Applied Research, SIM University, Singapore, who uses an online system developed by MXS Systems for audiences to send in their comments, responses and feedback via SMS. The information is captured and relevant charts are created on the fly when requested by the Lecturer/Speaker.SMSRS can be used by organisations of all sizes for Seminars, Conferences, Talks, Workshops, e-learning and for non-academic purpose like registration.
